The air was dead, no breeze at all, and something was burning in the village, making the air hard to breathe, and even harder to convince myself to get started. I was grumpy and unmotivated before I even thought about starting to exercise. But I knew I would have to report my laziness here, which forced me to get going. So thank you dear reader(s) for being there and forcing me to get moving, even when I REALLY don't want to.
I wasn't ready to face the evil P90X DVD again, so I hit the stairs. I was determined to push myself a little more, so I decided to see how long I could go without taking a single break. I managed drag myself up and down those hated stairs for 30 minutes non-stop, but only 37 trips, before I had to stop. I hated every minute of it, but I got my 30 minutes done. Win? I think so. And I am happy to report I got my full liter bottle of water choked down, in addition to several glasses of unsweetened tea. Win? That's a big YES!!
After showering, I had plans to meet a friend for lunch to help her celebrate her birthday, but it was a Monday, after all. My beloved scooter wouldn't run. Dead battery. The restaurant was too far away to take the golf cart, so I stayed home. The only thing that sounded good to eat in the house was a pot of beans I had made, so that was my lunch. Thank you boring, healthy, low calorie stewed red beans for being there. Win? ….. I think maybe.
The rest of my day continued in typical Monday fashion, and the heat just got worse. With a sick hubby at home to boot, we both napped a little, and I decided cheese and a few crackers was all I wanted for supper. I was relieved when the air finally cooled off in time for bed.
At the end of the day, all I can say is, Mondays like this are the kind of days that make me want to quit. So thank you universe, for letting me survive this day, for providing reader(s) to keep me accountable, for giving me a few small wins, and for always providing a "tomorrow." Another new day. And I can try again. See you then!

Big win on the stairs - I admire your stamina!
ReplyDeleteMy stamina seems to be building little by little, and I am trying to push myself in small little ways each day. Someday, it's got to get a little easier, doesn't it?
DeleteSome Mondays are pure Mondays, through and through. But you survived!!!
