The afternoon found dear hubby and I heading for the beach to enjoy some time with friends. I also enjoyed a few of my favorite, icy cold glasses of Watermelon Bliss and some shredded chicken bean dip, and I actually remembered to get a picture this time. And even though Sunday is the one day I allow myself to indulge a little, I still tried not to go overboard with enjoying too many of the tortilla chips, or too many of the Watermelon Bliss!
After suffering through my miserable P90X workout on Saturday, my body was a little sore, which made me happy it was my day off from exercising. Relaxing in the water and enjoying the sea breeze was a soothing break from the heat, and rejuvenating for my sore muscles. The rest of the day was spent relaxing around the house and watching a little tv. Dear hubby has been fighting a head cold, so I made a Tutti Frutti run for caramel and crunchy vanilla gelato and even treated myself to a small bowl of frozen delight.
Their gelato is wonderful, but I reminded myself that I could enjoy a small portion without going overboard and eating the whole tub, and still not feel like I was denying myself completely. I think perhaps making compromises will be key on this journey to "lose weight, gain health." I certainly hope so. Because I could never live the rest of my life without enjoying just a little of the finer things in life, like Tutti Frutti gelato, chicken nacho bean dip, and Watermelon Bliss!
Tomorrow, I will be starting my commitment to drinking a full litre of water (or more) everyday. That will be a real challenge for me, since I hate plain water so much, so wish me luck with that. See you then!
Wishing you the best of luck! I'm a gallon a day girl myself, but I wasn't always. Chug-a-lug!
ReplyDeleteUgh - a whole gallon? I have done it before years ago, and I hope I can get back there again, but I'd much rather have a Watermelon Bliss!
